Sailing Boat Excursions in Catania - Full Day (Lunch on Board)

Sailing Boat Excursions departing from the Tourist Port of Catania for 6 hours (full day) and lunch on the boat.

We will set sail with a view of Mount Etna, heading to discover and visit the renowned ‘Riviera dei Ciclopi’ and the Acitrezza marine reserve.

Our first stop and sea bath of the day is at the Caves of Ulysses. These caves formed under a beautiful lava cliff overlooking the sea and are characterised by the wonderful colours of the seabed from blue to green to blue. The Caves of Ulysses also lend themselves to snorkelling and diving, provided you bring your own equipment on board.

We will then continue our sailing trip with a stop near the Norman Castle of Aci Castello where we will be offered the opportunity to take a swim in the sea, and for lovers of the genre, also snorkelling, all this with a spectacular view of the castle on the promontory. There will be an opportunity to take a closer look at the characteristic ‘pillows of lava’ (columnar basalts in the jargon) discernible under the castle, formed as a result of the rapid cooling of lava in submarine eruptions that came into contact with seawater.

Our full-day sailing excursion programme takes us on to Aci Trezza (a hamlet of Aci Castello), where we will be greeted by the striking Faraglioni rocks and have the opportunity to disembark from our sailing boat for a short excursion to the characteristic fishing village. Those who wish can hire a pedalo to visit the heart of the Isole dei Ciclopi Marine Reserve.

On your return to the sailing boat, to refresh you, we will serve you a tasty lunch of pasta, fresh fruit, wine and water. You will enjoy the pleasant sensations of a meal on board.

During the return voyage, weather-marine conditions permitting, there will be the opportunity for one last offshore swim.

Our sailing excursions end with the return to disembark at the Tourist Port of Catania at around 16.00.

Sailing Boat Excursions – Tips for Sailing Guests:

• it may seem obvious, but we always remember: bring everything you need to enjoy a day at the beach and in the sun. Therefore, your backpack should not be without sunscreen, beach towels and swimwear.

• going offshore, the windmay pick up; having a windbreaker and hat with you will be useful and comforting.

• if you like snorkelling, don’t hesitate to bring masks and fins on boardour sailboat.

• if you fear that you might get seasick, equip yourself in advance with anything that might alleviate the discomfort during the boat trip: anti-nausea pills and/or patches.
